Implementation of the system for handling loan applications in the partner network

: Completed

Business need

The key business process for a bank is loan application handling, and in particular, to ensure the shortest possible time of providing services so that customers in the store do not give up shopping. The level of requirements is further increased by the complexity of the process, because, in order to make a credit decision it is necessary to:

  • verify the history of a client in bank own systems
  • send a query to the Credit Information Bureau (BIK) regarding any other debts that a client might have,
  • assess the creditworthiness and credibility of the client

Our task was to implement a system supporting the processing of loan applications submitted in our client’s partner network.

Solution

Development of a new central system of loan application management required fundamental changes in the architecture of key customer information systems. We developed and implemented an integration bus according to the SOA model. In order to avoid delays related to access to external data, we prepared an original mechanism automatically collecting data from the Credit Information Bureau (BIK) and the table of currency exchange rates of The Polish National Bank (NBP) which shares data as web services in the internal systems of the bank. Archiving of BIK reports also allowed them to reduce external costs (each access to data from BIK is paid separately). Simultaneously, we performed an integration of the Client’s financial – accounting system with the system of their business partner.

Benefits

Automation of the key business process, including:

  • integration of internal information systems,
  • integration of information systems of the bank with external systems.
  • reduction of client service time to a minimum
  • reduction of costs associated with the exchange of information with external data sets
