Client

Our Client was an insurance broker acting on the basis of the license granted by the Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisory Commission. It offers life insurance and group life insurance services for large commercial and public entities.

Challenge

Our Client wanted to build an advanced system to automate insurance service processes (including operational processes and accounting) taking place between them and big insurance companies. The biggest challenge for our team was to create mechanisms of integration between the application dedicated to the broker, and the external systems of insurance companies. What is more, we had to make sure that the system would guarantee full security and reliability of the transferred data and documents. Additionally, this required an implementation of electronic signature technology and standardization in the field of electronic exchange of data.

Solution

We developed and implemented a modular IT system based on the leading portal solution – Liferay along with the integration platform. This type of sulution ensures the cooperation of our Client’s system with external systems of insurance companies. The entire system uses ESB – Mule ESB class solutions and EAI architecture. The solution also includes full automation of business processes based on the Activiti BPM Platform solution. The modularity of the system proposed by our team allows for all possible configuration options of the functionalities of the portal, as well as a wide range of exansion and adaptation options, depending on individual business needs. As a result, the system can be adapted to the needs of any entity providing brokerage services. Product modules can be made available to business partners and the broker’s customers within the Software -as- a- Service (SaaS) model. We also applied the WSRP protocol which allows business partners to embed the service into their corporate portal. A big advantage of the system we created is a module of operational reports that supports management decisions and controlling.
